For the artist that doesn't know what to draw
and for the singer that doesn't know what to sing
This is for the couple that fills an empty bottle of wine with soda just to know what it feels like to matter
This is for you shake off the dust
This is for the coffee shop singers
and for the musician struggling to write his first song
this is for all the little brothers who've been told there never be as good
And for the people that do the same thing day in and day out every single day without any hope
shake off the dust
this is for everyone with a dream
dont let the world get you down
we only get to live this life once so live it to the fullest
and when the world gets you down just shake off the dust before it turns you to rust.
Great opening. This is for the troubled. And then my favorite line: this is for the artist that doesn't know what to draw. Very, very good.
ReplyDeleteIt gets a little preachy at the end. I wonder if you could break the ending up a little. Like mix in a few of those lines throughout the piece instead of just at the end.
